Surprising What Polled Less Popular Than Taxes

Most people dread doing their taxes, which is one reason so many of us put it off as long as possible. But let’s be real - taxes are hardly the only task we avoid or delay, we’re a nation of procrastinators. Jackson Hewitt Tax Services gets it and this year, they’re trying to help by declaring today “Get It Done Day.”

This isn’t just about filing taxes, they’re encouraging Americans to tackle all kinds of lingering to-dos so they can experience the joy and satisfaction of checking things off the list. Jackson Hewitt surveyed 1,050 adults across the country and found that more than half (51%) admit they spend more time worrying about tasks than actually doing them.

Completing tasks feels really good and for 53% relief is the top emotion they feel after finishing an important task.

Another 61% say the same when they finally file their taxes.

Sure, it’s something most of us would rather avoid altogether, but 84% of Americans say they’d rather file their taxes than compete on a dating show.
