ABC Cancels "The Bachelorette" Over Scandal

A video that has gone viral of Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen's brutal fight from 2023 has had major fallout. "TMZ" posted the video yesterday morning, where we can see Taylor throw a chair at Dakota.. with her daughter sitting on the couch not so far away. We can hear the child start to cry, and according to the police report, she is the one who was hit by the chair.

Well, ABC saw the video.. and has decided to pull the plug on Taylor's season of "The Bachelorette." In a statement, a spokesperson for Disney Entertainment said, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of 'The Bachelorette' at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

A "Bachelorette" insider also shared with the outlet that prior to "TMZ" posting the video, no one at ABC had seen it beforehand. Taylor's season of the show was supposed to premiere this Sunday.

The video’s release comes amid a paused season five production of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” due to a domestic violence investigation.

Meanwhile, Mortensen has seeking a protective order against Paul. In a statement, to "TMZ," he shared, "As anyone who has seen the video will understand, this is a deeply upsetting situation. I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny. I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same."

If you are experiencing domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or go to thehotline.org. All calls are toll-free and confidential. The hotline is available 24/7 in more than 170 languages.
