Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is engaged to Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez. The couple confirmed the news while on vacation in the South of France, where they attended the Cannes Film Festival.
The couple were seen together on Bezos' yacht, and Sánchez was spotted wearing an engagement ring. Ajay Anand from Rare Carat estimates the “absolute monster” ring to clock in at 20 carats and cost roughly $2.5 million. The engagement ring is definitely large…but it's worth a lot less than three months salary for Bezos.
Yahoo reported in 2021 that Bezos makes an average of 75 billion per year. That's 300 million....per work day. Say he works a 10 hour day. That's 30 million per hour. 15 million per 30 minutes. 7.5 million per quarter hour. So 2.5 million is like 5 minutes of work. .
The couple has been together since January 2019, following their divorces from their previous spouses.
