Subtle Signs Someone Is Into Swinging

A married couple in the U.K. who’s into swinging is revealing the discreet signs someone participates in their “lifestyle.” Liv and Gage tell the NY Post they opened up their marriage five years ago. They’ve since become experts at knowing the subtle signals to look for to find others open to swinging, which they say it’s a lot more common than you’d think.

According to the kinky couple, the signs to be on the lookout include:

  • A black wedding ring worn on the right hand.
  • Pineapples have become the most popular item to indicate swinging and Liv says she wears a gold necklace with the fruit on it so people know what she’s up for. “It’s a way to wear a sign discreetly, so it might be a necklace or anklet with a pineapple, and that’s usually code that they are into the lifestyle, although you have to be careful how you ask,” she explains. Apparently, some shoppers even put upside-down pineapples in their shopping carts to pick up other swingers at the supermarket.
  • Pampas grass, once a symbol of swinging, has become popular in interior design, according to these sexperts, so it’s no longer an indication of the lifestyle.

But just because you see someone wearing a pineapple doesn’t automatically mean they’re into swinging. To be sure, Gage suggests, “You can ask them, ‘Are you in the lifestyle?’ But if they look confused then you say, ‘Ignore me!’ And run.”
