FedEx Worker Saves Wedding

A FedEx worker in Tampa, Florida saved the day for a bride in need. Pickup and delivery manager Anthony Carvajal found out her custom-made wedding dress was accidently shipped ground instead of overnight and wasn’t supposed to be delivered until Monday, two days after her Saturday nuptials.

Several frantic calls from dress maker, the bride, and the groom let him know how everything hinged on this package. She was getting married that afternoon and because it was Saturday, there weren’t a lot of people working at Fed Ex. So Carvajal did the work himself, tracking down the dress’ location to a certain tractor trailer and then going through every package himself to find it.

Four hours of searching later he found the dress and called the groom to pick it up, just in time for the wedding. “I knew in that moment there was nothing more important to that customer. To be able to produce her dress so that she could continue with her wedding day, I don’t know what she would’ve done if I hadn’t found that package, but I wasn’t going to let that be an option.”

FedEx is honoring his efforts with the “Purple Promise” award, which recognizes employees who go above and beyond, and he definitely did!
