The meme, featuring a jab at Miranda Priestley (played by Meryl Streep) with the line “Would you like some lies with that?,” was intentionally styled to look like a low-quality internet meme; Franklin may have done too good a job considering how many people were convinced it was AI-generated. In an email to "NBC News," the artist explained she aimed for a “cheap, plastic look” inspired by 2010s meme culture, not AI, though she admitted, “Technically I was trying to make it look artificial.” The artist has shared her process for creating the meme on Instagram, showing it was made by humans.
