Are you counting down the days until summer vacation? The busy summer travel season is coming up and many are already booking their getaways, from sandy beaches to mountain escapes. New research from Google is giving us a peek at where Americans are heading this summer.
- Their report on the Top Trending Destinations for Summer 2026 has just come out.
- They analyzed Google Flights data to see which destinations had the biggest year-over-year increases both here in the U.S. and worldwide, for trips between June 1st and August 31st.
- The Dutch Caribbean island of Sint Maarten tops the list for international getaways.
- Visitors there can head to Mullet Bay Beach, and enjoy zip lining, the top trending activity searched in the past month.
- Mexico City is number two for international destinations for summer, thanks to an incredible food scene and cultural attractions, like the Frida Kahlo Museum.
- For summer travel here in the U.S., Kansas City, Missouri, is the top destination. Visitors won’t want to miss the city’s famous barbecue and the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium. The city is also hosting six FIFA World Cup matches this summer.
