Teacher Prays For A Miracle And Gets One

Andrew Braund a teaching assistant in Dorset, England, was praying for a miracle. He needed some serious help to pay for his upcoming wedding to fiancée Rachel Moseley.

As he was preparing to move into a new home with Rachel he discovered some old Pokémon cards while clearing out the attic of his childhood home. One of his friends said he had heard the cards they grew up with were going for a lot of money these days. Andrew took them to an auction house to be evaluated,  and learned that he did in fact have three rare cards. The cards are now being sold through Ewbank’s Auctions alongside other collectibles like early Pokémon theme decks and complete sets.

Braund’s collection includes a mint-condition Skyridge Charizard Holo estimated at over $15-thousand, a near-mint version valued around $13-thousand, and a reverse-holo version worth almost $3-thousand. Additional items in the auction include factory-sealed theme decks from 1999 and other card sets with estimated values ranging from $2- to $5-thousand. The auction is scheduled to take place on Friday (April 16th).
