South Carolina Is The Nation's Fastest Growing State For The Second Straight Year: A new report from the US Census Bureau shows that South Carolina is the fastest growing US state by population for the second straight year. Nationally, between July 2024 and July 2025, the population increased by an estimated 1.8-million, a rate of just .5-percent. A primary reason for the slower population growth: a “historic decline in net international migration." According to the Bureau, the Top 5 fastest growing states year-to-year were:
- South Carolina: 1.46-percent
- Idaho: 1.44-percent
- North Carolina: 1.32-percent
- Texas: 1.25-percent
- Utah: 1.03-percent
