Life Hack To Eat Healthier

Step one is accepting that there isn’t one perfect way to eat or a single “best” diet for everyone according to Lifehacker

There are lots of different ways to start eating healthier than you are now and these are some simple ways to get started.

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables - If you only make one change, let it be this one. Most of us don’t eat enough produce and we tend to eat the same fruits and veggies on repeat. It’s better to eat a variety so we get lots of different vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, along with the fiber that all fruits and vegetables contain.
  • Get plenty of protein - And make it the lean kind, like fish and chicken. If you are trying to shed some pounds, you’ll need more protein than the average person, and the same goes if you work out a lot. Research shows the average person eats barely enough protein, so don’t worry about getting too much.
  • Have less sugar and processed food - Saying you’ll cut it out of your diet completely is unrealistic, but you can limit what you eat. Not all processed food is the enemy, but if you drink a lot of soda, eat a lot of chips, candy and boxed foods, cut back on those and swap in better-for-you snacks, like nuts, fruit with nut butter, veggies and hummus and yogurt.
  • Make it easy - This takes some pre-planning on your part to have things ready when you want them. Prep some fruits and veggies and have them in the fridge, ready to grab when you’re hungry. Chop some vegetables and cook a batch of brown rice so you can throw it all together with some protein for a quick dinner that keeps you from ordering takeout again. You don’t have to do it all from scratch either, frozen veggies are your friend here.
  • Only track calories if you really want or need to - Don’t do it because you feel like you “should,” only if you want to keep track of the numbers. If you’re not trying to lose or gain weight, just focus on eating healthy, not counting calories.
