Firefighter Lost Home While Saving Others So Community Rallies Behind Them

Trudy Boykin works for the Upper McKenzie Fire District in Oregon. While battling the Holiday Farm Fire for three days, she was devastated to find her own home destroyed by it.

KVAL reports that people wanted Trudy to know how much she was appreciated. So a group called Hope on Wheels raised funds and are giving an RV to her for her and her daughter to live in temporarily while they rebuild their home. The group only asked that they donate the RV to another displaced family in need when they no longer need it.

It’s like the gift that keeps on giving and the whole thing is run by one man, David Strahan. He does all the work repairing used RVs to provide a place for people to live when they need it most.
