The stars of competing real estate reality TV shows 38 year old Tarek El Moussa from HGTV's “Flip or Flop” and Netflix’s “Selling Sunset” star 32 year old Heather Rae Young are now engaged.
People Magazine says Tarek proposed on a boat trip to Catalina Island that Heather Rae thought was simply to celebrate their 1 year anniversary. She was shocked to see the beach the boat went to was decorated in her 2 favorite colors of red and pink. Then as they walked down the beach towards 2 "kissing palm trees" she saw over 5,000 of her favorite flowers, including roses, peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, butterfly lisianthus and hydrangeas had been hung on the trees.
Tarek tells People that he gave her an eight carat, colorless, emerald-cut diamond. "The diamond is perfect all the way around, just like Heather. I also picked this ring because 8 is a lucky number.”
Her gift to him was a scrapbook of their first year together. Then they had dinner on the beach and went dolphin watching on the boat before heading home to LA.
