Mom Admits That She Doesn't Like Her 6 Year Old

A young mother who’s struggling shared her feelings on Breaking Moms Reddit’s forum, even admitting that sometimes she doesn’t really like her six-year-old son. She explains that she loves him and they have a lot of good times, but they have a lot of bad times, too.

She writes that sometimes she reads other parents’ posts and thinks she has it good with her kid because he doesn’t throw tantrums, isn’t “killing kittens” or “trying to hurt his brother” and he’s not destructive. But he is “all boy” and on the go from sun up to sun down and would go longer, if she’d let him. It drives her nuts when he gets up out of bed several times at bedtime, doesn’t listen to her and asks her a million questions a day. She writes that he can’t take no for an answer and she’s pretty much at her wit’s end.

So the mom is asking Redditors for parenting advice and if it gets better. Several other parents jumped in to share their tales of their kids driving them nuts and one assures her that she’s not alone by sharing their recent struggles with their seven-year-old child and writes, “kids are tough at this age.” And another parent cautions the mom to take time for herself so she can decompress, adding that she should know “it’s completely normal to feel drained by your children sometimes.”
