New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees was asked yesterday about the idea that NFL players may take a knee again this season while the National Anthem is played. You can see all of it here but he said "I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country.”
He went on to say it reminded him his two grandfathers fighting during World War II adding “every time I stand with my hand over my heart looking at that flag and singing the national anthem, that's what I think about. And in many cases, that brings me to tears, thinking about all that has been sacrificed.”
Saints teammate Malcom Jenkins responded by posting a video at one point saying"Drew Brees, if you don't understand how hurtful and insensitive your comments are, you are part of the problem."
Just a few minutes ago Drew posted this apology on his Instagram account.
