Strangers replace old farmers stolen savings

A West Virginia man was devastated when he discovered someone had stolen his life savings of $6,500. Harold Taylor kept the cash in a safe on his farm in Pleasants County and he recently found it was gone.

Taylor’s granddaughter,Jerra Poling, said "The hurt in his voice sickened me. I felt light-headed and sick to my stomach. I couldn't believe someone would do this to him." She set up a fund on Facebook to help replenish the money and donations started rolling in. People who had never met Harold were happy to give a few dollars to replace the cash that had been stolen. Thanks to many small donations almost 1000 people raised $8-thousand!

Harold doesn't have any social media accounts tells WTAP-TV “I’m just overwhelmed with how kind and how giving people have been”.
