Candy shaming for Halloween is now a thing.

The Twitter account @BestofNextDoor, which calls out funny posts on Nextdoor app message boards, shared a post from an person who is not happy with the candy given out by some neighbors, especially since the poster deems then unacceptable for their “affluent” neighborhood of Rancho Cucamonga, California.

“Over the last three Halloweens, I’ve noticed candy stock has become more and more diluted with cheap candy,” the person writes, “I don’t know if this trend is the result of the higher bills or even the new constructions, but cheap candy has somehow infiltrated our community for Halloween and it has to stop,"

The person insists “standard full or KING size candy” is the only acceptable candy to be given out, adding, Dum Dums, Smarties and Jolly Ranchers are a no, as are peeps, with the poster noting, “No one, and I mean NO ONE, wants those terrible marshmallow tragedies." They also suggest those who bought “fun size” bars don’t need to return them, but they’ll have to give each kid four to six to make up the difference.
