Theresa Russell’s roof in Deltona FL, had been heavily damaged by back 2 back hurricanes Ian and Nicole, in the Fall of 2022. She has been fighting with her insurance company for 3.5 years over repairing the damage. All the while trying to prevent further damage to her home by using tarps. She faced the very real possibility of losing the home as she was issued warnings from the county about it falling into disrepair and they may seize the home if she couldn't maintain it.
Out of desperation she called Steve Gensolin, owner of the company Roof Roof, after seeing a story on Spectrum News about him helping homeowners in similar situations.
He coordinated with local businesses, including Florida Roofing Outlet and Mahogany Roofing, to gather the supplies and labor needed for the project. The group worked for several weeks to obtain permits, remove the damaged roof, and install a new one on Russell’s home. The entire project was completed at no cost to the homeowner.
Russell says the support brought relief as she cares for her daughter and her nearly 80-year-old mother who lives with her. Gensolin also worked with her afterward to help her secure insurance coverage for the property. Russell says the assistance helped save her home and she expressed deep gratitude for the efforts from all the companies involved.
