Spanish police arrested a 19-year-old who manipulated travel booking sites to score expensive hotel rooms for only one cent.
Spain’s National Police explained "This cyberattack was specifically designed to alter the payment validation system, and this is the first time we have detected a crime using this method."
The hacker successfully stayed at several hotels for a penny per night and also manipulated mini bars to eat and drink for free.
Police busted the man while he was living it up at a luxury Madrid hotel with a four-night reservation which should have cost $1200 per night.
