Elderly Woman Calls Cops And Gets Extra Special Treatment

Last week Officer Joshua Hobson of the Bethlehem Police Department in Pennsylvania responded to a call at the home of an 88-year-old woman. She said her lock didn't work and she didn't feel safe. She showed him that her front door lock had been improperly installed by a handyman a few weeks earlier and couldn’t be secured.

The woman told him she felt unsafe, and had to cancel her part time cleaning jobs, the past few days and was sleeping in her living room because she couldn’t lock up her house.

Hobson called his Supervisor, explained the situation and got permission to take the next couple of hours to go to Home Depot, bought a new door lock with his own money, uninstall the bad one and install the new one. He also filled in the extra screw holes left in the door and painted the frame.

Joshua tells People Magazine "She made me a cup of coffee and a muffin. We had, like, a little breakfast date.".

He said not only did he love the breakfast, but his kids love that this story is all over social media. "My kids think it's cool that it's become viral".
