Chris Young is set to headline the free Fourth of July celebration hosted every year in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced on Thursday (April 18) that the “Young Love & Saturday Nights” artist will take the stage at Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th, along with six-time Grammy Award nominee Yola, sibling trio and 2021 champions of The Voice Girl Named Tom, and GMA Dove Award winner Blessing Offor. The annual event also features “one of the country’s largest July 4th fireworks shows,” which will include drone light elements for the first time this year, per a press release issued Thursday morning.

“Chris Young is going to deliver an unforgettable performance as the headliner for yet another spectacular Fourth of July celebration, and we are truly excited about the exceptionally diverse lineup, which features talents like Yola, Girl Named Tom and Blessing Offor,” Ken Levitan, Chairman of the NCVC Board of Directors and o-President of Vector Management, said in a statement. “In addition to these thrilling performances, we are proud to introduce new elements to enhance the festivities… We invite everyone to join us for a full day of music, fireworks and giving back to our community.”

The Fourth of July announcement comes shortly after Young released his ninth full-length studio album — his most ambitious to date, spanning 18 tracks — last month. Young Love & Saturday Nights marked the start of a “new chapter” for Young. The Middle Tennessee-born singer-songwriter had a hand in writing 15 of the 18 tracks, and produced the project with Corey Crowder and Chris DeStefano. The “Young Love & Saturday Nights Tour” kicks off this month with special guest Bryan Martin

“The thing I’m most proud of about this album is it’s authentically me,” Young said when his album released. “There’s songs that are really personal, songs that I have cranked up in the car on the way to go hang out with friends, songs I think people are gonna play possibly at their wedding, at the bar on a Friday night. I can’t wait for you guys, hopefully, to fall in love with this one like I have.”
