Andrew Budek-Schmuisser of Albuquerque, New Mexico, decided to get a dog from the Animal Welfare Department. That’s where he met Peanut, a two-year-old Great Dane who’d been at the shelter since November. Andrew took Peanut home earlier this month.
Just one day after Peanut arrived at his new home, Andrew was knocked out when he fell and hit his head. Because of the way he landed, his windpipe became blocked. Peanut was instantly rescuing Andrew! “I felt Peanut come up behind me. He cleared my airway by straightening out my head and then got behind me and gradually pushed me into a sitting position”.
Andrew is extremely grateful to Peanut. “I love the dog with all my heart,” Andrew says, “ He saved my life.”
