Simsbury, Connecticut, toddler Colby Bergman turned two earlier this week, but a few days before that, he got a birthday surprise that was "beyond anything I could have ever imagined," according to his mom, Jessica Bergman. Local mail carrier, affectionately known as "Mailman Mike," who Colby regards as a "hero," rallied the community to celebrate the toddler’s second birthday in grand style.
For the big day, a parade of community vehicles including Mailman Mike’s truck, fire trucks, garbage trucks, a police car, and of course, more mail trucks drove by the Bergman’s house. And if that wasn't already enough, Colby was presented with a customized mini replica of the USPS trucks he adores that he can drive around his yard. The birthday boy also received a certificate making him an honorary letter carrier.
Bergman posted a video of the celebration on TikTok, that’s since been viewed over 3.8-million times and received thousands of likes and comments. Colby’s mom was "blown away" by the support and had nothing but praise for Mailman Mike, thanking him for all he does for their community. But it was one TikToker who may have said it best, commenting that, "Mailman Mike has a heart of gold!"
