Single Dad Adopts 3 Brothers And Says He's The Lucky One

45-year-old Caesar's Entertainment executive Jason Smith from Las Vegas came across a photo of three young brothers on the site Adopt Us Kids and thought, "Wow, look at these handsome gents." The boys, nine-year-old Tayvon, and his brothers, Ireon, 10, and 11-year old Tayveon, had been through five different foster homes in as many years and had been separated from their two younger sisters, who were adopted by a Nevada couple in 2022.

Smith arranged to meet the boys and they hit it off so well that a playdate and a sleepover followed. “It just took off,” Smith says. The boys’ caseworker Benaleta Simpkins was impressed with Smith’s dedication, saying that, “From day one he treated them like they were his own."

Within a month of that first meeting, the boys moved in with Smith and nine months later, they officially became his sons when their adoption was finalized. The new family says they love going to Church and Chili's, spending a day at the skatepark or going hiking. They also take trips to visit with the boys' younger sisters. The boys love the stability their new home provides for them and Smith loves his new family. “Foster care training prepares you for the worst, but I haven’t experienced any of that,” says Smith, who recently bought a bigger house with more space for the brothers. "The boys have been amazing and have brought purpose and meaning to my life."

"I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. It’s like God wanted us to be together.”
