King David famously slayed the giant Goliath with his slingshot. A boy in Michigan has become a legend today for his incredible slingshot feat.
Police say his 8 year old sister was mushroom-hunting in her backyard in Alpena Township when an unknown male emerged from the woods and attempted to kidnap her. She managed to break free, and her 13-year-old brother saw what was happening and whipped out his trusty slingshot and nailed the guy in the head.
Lieutenant John Grimshaw from the Michigan State Police praised the teen's "extraordinary" actions, saying that the boy likely saved his sister from death or serious injury. The suspect fled the scene but was later found by state troopers at a nearby gas station and was easily identified by the injuries from the slingshot.
The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody and allegedly confessed. He has been charged with multiple felonies including attempted kidnapping and is being held in the Alpena County Jail on $150-thousand bond.
