Busted Plug was erected on a privately owned parking lot along Taylor Street back in 2001. The 40 foot statue created by Columbia artist Blue Sky has became a landmark instantaneously.
If you've never had your picture taken with it now is the time. The Post & Courier reported Sunday that within the next 2 weeks Busted Plug will be moved to a storage facility. The city will try to figure out where to reinstall the 675,000 pound sculpture. Mayor Rickenmann commented “I think it’s ultimately, what’s the best place for it that ties into public space that people can enjoy?”
