Deion Sanders is a legend. Deion is also a fan of raising boys up to men. When Deion's son Shilo played for the Gamecocks he talked about his favorite thing being the reports that he received weekly from the coaches on Shilo's class attendance, his performance in the weight room, how he took coaching etc.
Now Deion is a College Football coach himself and he's running a tight ship.
It's been reported that he recently said in a team meeting “No slides (sandals). No slides. No armpits exposed. No wife-beaters. Sit in the front of the classroom and be the perfect gentleman because when it comes down to it, and you need help, that professor is going to recall your character and who you’ve been consistently in that class... No slides, no sleeveless shirts, no armpits, none of that.”
That hasn't been well received by some folks. As one fan posted; "I get it and all. . . But let these kids be kids at the same time. This is a time where they need to enjoy life. Don't get it wrong when the time comes to hunker down and do your job you gotta. But let's stop controlling every Lil thing with these guys man. Let them live a bit."
When asked about the pushback Deion had a simple response. "I don’t care. My team knows me. I’ve got to teach them not only the game of football, I have to teach them the game of life."
