We often hear about dogs saving people but Sam Felstead of Nottinghamshire U.K. tells the BBC that she woke up because her cat Billy jumped on her chest and kept meowing. Once she was awake, Sam realized that she was paralyzed on the right side of her body.
Sam’s mother helped her get to the hospital, where she was treated for a heart attack. Doctors told her it was fortunate that she made it to the hospital when she did. After three days, she was back home and Billy was back to being indifferent about her.
Cat experts familiar with the story say that Billy was likely reacting to changes in Sam’s physiology and that the meowing could have been a sign of anxiety, but Sam just glad that Billy was there to save her.
