Hottest Songs At Weddings

A new poll asks 2-thousand wedding guests which songs make them hit the dance floor, revealing the ultimate wedding playlist. We all know these songs can be corny and campy, but 59% of respondents admit they love the cheesiness of a wedding playlist.

The survey finds:

  • 30% of those polled believe speeches are usually the cheesiest part of a wedding, not the music.
  • No matter what’s being played, one in 10 say they never dance at weddings.
  • Is it better to have a live band or a DJ at a reception? It’s a toss up as respondents are split right down the middle on which they prefer.
  • One in five married couples say they had a fight with their spouse about what tunes should be played at their wedding.

So what songs are worthy of being on the ultimate wedding playlist? Topping the list is a hit that was first released 46 years ago: “Dancing Queen” by Abba. These are the top 10, based on the survey results (click here for the full list of 40 songs):

  1. “Dancing Queen” by Abba
  2. “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen
  3. “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond
