Kirsten Marten and her family were en route to Mexico for vacation recently when she realized they’d left their youngest son’s critical medication back home in Victoria, British Columbia. So Marten posted a “Hail Mary” on Facebook looking to see if anyone was also traveling to Mexico and if they’d be willing to get the prescription and bring it with them.
The Nelson Star reports that Marina Miller — who also lives in Victoria, but doesn’t know Marten — saw the message and responded. Within minutes, Miller secured the prescription, paid for it, and arranged for it to be delivered to their hotel in Mexico before the family’s arrival.
Marten was bowled over by the kind gesture and posted the story on Facebook, including a thank-you to Miller. “Marina Miller – someone I’ve never met, let alone spoken to, reached out immediately and in a matter of minutes not only had me sorted out but had the medicine arrive at our hotel when we arrived and paid for it all herself!
