It all started when Chris cracked a joke at the expense of Will’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, and Will actually got out of his seat and slapped Chris. Then he returned to his seat and said, “Keep my wife’s name out of your (bleeping) mouth!” .
During his acceptance speech for Best Actor, Will seemed to try and make an excuse for his behavior, noting he was a “fierce defender of his family,” and apologized to the Academy.
