Lisa Marshall has been the caretaker for her husband, Peter, since he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2018 at 53 years old. He’s forgotten many things, but he’s never forgotten he loves her and one day while watching a wedding scene on TV, he was inspired to pop the question … again.
Peter asked Lisa to marry him, having forgotten they tied the knot 12 years ago. They were watching a show which had a wedding scene in it. "He asked if I wanted to to do that. I said, 'Do what?' And he pointed to the TV, to the scene of this wedding and I said, 'Do you want to get married?' He said yes and had this huge grin on his face. He doesn't know that I'm his wife. I'm just his favorite person. Despite already being married, she said yes to his proposal.
The couple walked down the aisle once again recently to renew their vows in front of friends and family. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and Lisa says she hasn’t seen her husband that happy in a long time.
