Jim and Marie Zangara, say they had about given hope hope of ever seeing their Golden Retriever Chunk again. The Zangara's live outside of Trenton NJ and three year old Chunk broke off his chain and disappeared. They put posters all over their neighborhood and posted all over social media photos of Chunk.
Two weeks later hope was slipping away but then about 15 miles from their home, a couple of joggers spotted Chunk swimming near the Mantoloking Bridge. They called the family. Then a fisherman also saw him in the bay but Chunk kept swimming away from his boat. Finally some NJ State troopers showed up and were able to lasso Chunk and guide him to the dock were a grateful family was waiting.
“I think he’s exhausted from his ordeal,” Jim says. “He lost 20 pounds. plus he has a bunch of ticks on him, but the vet says he's pretty healthy for a dog that has been lost for weeks. Even when I started to lose hope Marie would demand that we keep praying for Chunk. I'm so thankful for her faith, and God's protection"!
