Ranking All States On Snobs

Zippia has come out with their picks for the Snobbiest States in the U.S. They determined their list based on four criteria:

  • Percent of population with a bachelor’s degree
  • Percent of degree earners with a degree in arts and humanities
  • Number of Ivy League colleges
  • Gallons of wine consumed yearly (considered the snobbiest drink)

Topping the list as the snobbiest state in the U.S. is Massachusetts, which of curse is home to the ultimate Ivy League school, Harvard. Massachusetts also boasts 42.9% of their population holding a college degree, with 24% having arts or humanities degrees. As for wine, the average Mass resident drinks 21 gallons per year.

Top Ten Snobbiest States in the U.S.

  2. Vermont
  3. Connecticut
  4. New York
  5. New Hampshire
  6. Rhode Island
  7. California
  8. Oregon

  10. Virginia

As for the great state of South Carolina we tied with Indiana for 41st. If we did away with Hilton Head I bet we could've beat WV for the least snobbiest state!
