SC Ranks In Most Dangerous States In America

24/7 Wall Street has just come out with their list of the Most Dangerous States in the U.S.

They looked at things like violent crimes in 2019 per 100,000 residents, as well as incarceration rates, total murders and poverty rates. 

Topping the list as the Most Dangerous State in the U.S. is Alaska, which has 867.1 violent crimes per 100,000 people, with 244 adults per 100,000 people incarcerated, a poverty rate of 10.1% and 69 murders in 2019, the 14thfewest in the U.S.

The site also notes that the most dangerous city in Alaska is Anchorage.

  5. Louisiana
  6. South Carolina
  7. Alabama
  8. Missouri
  9. Nevada
  10. Arizona 

As for the least dangerous state in the U.S., that would be Maine, with a violent crime rate of only 115.2 per 100,000 people, and the second lowest incarceration rate at 146 adults per 100,000.
