Alec Baldwin's Wife Explains Why She Made Up Fake Spanish Heritage

In a new interview with “The New York Times,” Hilaria – aka Hillary from Boston – offers a new explanation for lying about her upbringing.

Hilaria has been described in magazines and on her agency’s website as being born in Spain, when she was really born in Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up in Boston. She graduated from Weston High School as her yearbook shows before going to New York University. She did visit Spain and her parents moved there....in 2012.

Speaking to the “Times,” Hilaria says she was only shady about her real upbringing to avoid “oversharing” and protect her parents from media attention. Riiiiiight. She has been telling that story since at least 2009 when she opened a yoga studio in NYC and absolutely no one cared whom she or her parents were. That's when she had business cards printed and the name on her site changed from Hillary to Hilaria. She began dating Baldwin in 2011.

“Today we have an opportunity to clarify for people who have been confused. I think there is a difference between hiding and creating a boundary.” Speaking of confused she now claims it was a "brain fart" that caused her to ask the Telemundo host "uh how you say in English?...cucumber".

Hilaria’s husband Alec Baldwin has been defending her against the haters on social media. In her new interview, Hilaria says he’s always been clued in on her real backstory, saying she made it clear she was from Boston when they first met.

How did all of this get started? On Dec 21st a social media account, https://twitter.com/lenibriscoe wrote "You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person”.
