Dr. Moncef Slaoui, who is leading the federal government's vaccine program said that within 48 hours of health officials approving a vaccine he expects people to begin receiving shots.
He expects that doses will be shipped within 24 hours of a vaccine being approved. If all things go as expected American's could begin receiving shots the 2nd week of December.

According to the company, the product, which was developed in conjunction with the University of Oxford, prevented infection in 70% of test subjects. It goes to over 90% effective if the subjects receive half a dose and then a full dose a few days later. On Friday, Pfizer went for approval of their vaccine which the company says is 95% effective. Moderna has released similar results with their product.
