Almost Half Of Americans Have Had This Happen To Them

  • 64% of Americans are worried about holiday packages sent to loved ones being stolen by porch pirates.
  • 47% of people have already been victims of porch pirates.
  • The average victim has lost $175.05 in stolen packages, and has had three packages stolen during quarantine.
  • 75% say porch pirate are the worst thing about the holidays.
  • 48% would spend more for something in-store if it meant not having to worry about it arriving safely at their home.

Now it usually isn’t hard to get a replacement when something is stolen, but for some people those stolen gifts were quite meaningful. The poll asked folks to share the most meaningful gifts that were stolen, and they include:

  • A baby gift for my sister.
  • A birthday gift for my granddaughter.
  • A piece of medical equipment. It took many months to get my insurance to approve the medical equipment.
  • A part for my water heater that stopped working and we had no hot water for three weeks waiting for the part twice.
  • An old family heirloom that was mailed to me from my mom.
  • College textbooks for online learning.
  • My high blood pressure medication.
  • Personal letters
