Police in Martin County, Florida, say a security camera caught the moment a man was struck by an SUV as he exited a convenience store on Tuesday evening (March 8th). Police say the 21-year-old female driver says she meant to hit the break, but accidentally pressed the accelerator instead. The video shows the man being struck around his waistline as he was thrown back into the store. Deputies say the man was transported to the hospital with injuries to his face from the broken glass, and is expected to recover. In a Facebook post about the incident, police say the victim was “talking and remained in unusually good spirits, asking deputies if the beer he had just purchased was okay.” Police say the driver will likely face careless driving charges.
