A 19-year-old in Istanbul was scrolling along on his phone when he failed to spot an open trapdoor in front of him at a mall, and fell into a cellar. The incident was caught on camera, and shows the lucky teen falling onto a large pile of boxes, allowing him to escape without injury. The incident happened in the central district of Fatih on Monday (February 14th.) A witness says when delivery drivers came to his assistance, the man’s first response was “Why is this open? Where are my glasses?” The owner of the shop where the hatch was open said, “He suddenly fell and ended up sitting on the boxes. If he had fallen the whole way, he would have at least broken his arms and legs.”
