Google is completely killing support for very old Androids.
The good news? That Samsung you bought three years ago will continue to work. It's only truly ancient devices — anything running Android 2.3.7 or lower. That's Android Gingerbread, which came out over a decade ago. If you're still carrying one of those in a holster, time to get another (and ditch the holster too).
