I figured this would happen and now it has. Parents are very hesitant to name their baby girls Karen these days. Recently 'Karen' fell from the already very low 660th ranking down to 831.
The origins of the use of Karen as a negative are not clear, but seem to have something to do with a 2005 joke from stand-up comedian Dane Cook. Dane talked about how every group of friends has someone in that they hate and when that person isn’t around, everyone complains about that person.
