Balloonists Hit Cell Tower, Stranded 920 Feet In The Air

On Saturday morning, two people were rescued after their hot air balloon struck a 1,100-foot cell tower in Longview, Texas, leaving them stranded roughly 920 feet above the ground.

More than a dozen firefighters, including several who were off duty, climbed the tower and used multiple 300-foot ropes to safely lower the passengers one at a time.

Both individuals were uninjured, and community members brought pizza to show their appreciation for the rescuers.
