Good Samaritan and Deputy Rescue Mailman From Fiery Truck in Dramatic Save

A mail truck burst into flames after a crash in Parkland, Washington, and bystander Stephanie Burkhart Mabee jumped in to save the trapped mailman. She broke the door handle with a hammer, cut his seat belt, and pulled him out just as the fire intensified.

A deputy arrived to help move the driver farther from the burning truck and try to put out the flames. Both the mailman and a passenger from the other car were hospitalized in serious condition. Authorities praised Mabee for her quick, courageous actions, which she says she hopes anyone would take in an emergency.
