A 12‑year‑old boy in England, Zac Howells, was recognized for saving his mother’s life after she passed out while driving. When he noticed she was unresponsive and the car was still moving, he steered it onto a grassy verge to bring it to a stop, turned off the engine, and called emergency services with their exact location.
No one was hurt. Police later awarded Zac a Chief Constable’s Commendation for his calm, courageous actions that protected both his family and others on the road.
