Cee Cee Lyles, a United Airlines Flight 93 flight attendant who died during the September 11th attacks had a son named Jevon Castrillo.
Jevon was recently shocked to receive a letter written dated March 27, 2001 from his mother.
In 2001 Jevon was in Kindergarten. His mother had sent his teacher Ms Thurman a letter to thank her for her hard work with her son. WPTV reports that the letter read Dear Ms. Thurman, Jevon read a book last night that he brought home from the library. He read it from cover to cover. I told him I would write you a note and tell you what an outstanding job he did. We are very proud of him and will continue to work with him at home. Again thank you for your dedication and courage for the job that you do.
Ms Thurman had stashed that letter in a folder of memories and only came upon it after her retirement. She remembered Jevon and the sad fate his mother had faced just a few months after writing this. She had no idea how to get the letter to Jevon so she mailed it to a local news station WPTV-TV and asked that they track him down. You can see the video of him receiving that letter here.
Jevon is now father to a 3 month old son is pretty emotional reading his mothers praise for him and the teacher 24 years ago. The TV station also was able to get Ms Thurman and Jevon reunited on a Zoom call. As a mom, I know you need to see those words from your mom. She was a wonderful woman and you were a wonderful student,"
