A guy that’s been driving a Formula 1 car on Czech highways for years has finally been caught. For six years, drivers on Czech highways have seen the car known as the “Phantom” flying up and down major roads without lights, a license plate, or any other sort of equipment to make it road legal.
The driver has eluded cops the whole time…until Sunday. Several cop cars and a helicopter were sent to the man’s home after one officer followed the car. The 51-year-old even emerged from the car in a helmet and full race gear and resisted police. The video of him telling the police they don't have the right to suspect him of violating any road laws while still sitting in his illegal formula 1 vehicle is hysterical!
It turns out, the guy and his son have been posting videos of the car illegally on YouTube. The driver will now be banned from driving any vehicles and faces a hefty fine. The car actually isn't a Formula 1 car, it is technically a Dallara GP2/08 race car developed in Italy. The car is a feeder series for Formula 1.
