Unclaimed Takeout Order Starts Pay It Forward Chain

Last Thursday, Stackburger, a popular restaurant in Ontario, prepared a large takeout order that included multiple burgers, chicken sandwiches, poutines, fries, and milkshakes, totaling over $439.

When the pickup time passed and the customer couldn’t be reached, staff decided to donate the entire order to Pauline’s Place, a local women’s shelter.

In a social media post, they wrote that they hoped the customer was okay and shared that the donation turned a disappointing situation into something positive.

Someone who had read about the donation walked into the restaurant and handed the cashier $450 as a thankyou for helping the women's shelter. Stackburger shared the update, thanking the individual and noting how significant the gesture was for their small business.

Pauline's Place said that post has lead to several hundred donations!

Stackburger management is blown away by the community response and hopeful even more people will now donate to Pauline's Place.
