Have you seen the TikTok videos of the Nicki Minaj challenge - users trying to balance in heels while striking a pose similar to Minaj’s video for her song “High School.”
Russian influencer Mariana Barutkina attempted it… and fractured her back doing so. “I decided to start blogging,” she wrote in an Instagram post that include a video of her falling off her kitchen counter, “and here I am leaving the doctor diagnosed with Th9 compression bending uncomplicated fracture of the body.”
Mariana had just given birth weeks ago, and attempted to balance on a saucepan and canister of baby formula on her kitchen counter. She did manage to hold the pose for a few minutes per the video, but she then fell backward off the high countertop. She wrote "Is this irony? Karma? Or just life, which always tests our strength at the most unexpected moment.”
