Luke Wintrip wouldn't go away. After proposing to Sarah she said no, but was still open to dating him.
“I just said, ‘No, we’ve only been together for six months,’” Sarah recalls. A year later He planned elaborate proposal thinking it's been almost 18 months, surely she would say yes! But no. Over the next 6 years, Luke kept proposing in all kinds of ways. Renting a castle in Prague, arranging candlelit dinners in CA and a horseback-riding trip in New England, and each time she said no.
She said no 42 times! 42 rejections over 7 years.
But on the 42nd rejections Sarah added “Next time you ask, I’m going to say ‘yes,’ but just you wait.” So, he did, and after a year passed, Luke took her to Greenwich in South East London, and tried one more time, telling her, “This is the center of the world and you are the center of the world and I want you to marry me.” The 43rd time was the charm and she finally said “Yes!” After a long-awaited destination wedding in Jamaica, the couple is finally Mr. and Mrs. Wintrip.
