Science Says This Is What Makes Some People Cool

A new study figured out what makes people "cool" by asking people from 13 different countries around the world. Researchers wanted to know who people thought was cool versus good, and what made them different. The study found that cool people share six main traits. They're more outgoing, fun-loving, powerful, adventurous, open to new things, and independent. Good people, on the other hand, are more traditional, secure, warm, agreeable, careful, and calm. The researchers used British businessman Richard Branson as an example of someone cool. He's done adventurous things like going to outer space, flying hot air balloons across the Atlantic Ocean, and racing speedboats. These activities show he's powerful and adventurous. While there’s some discussion on “cool,” the research shows that being cool and being good are two different things, and people around the world generally agree on what makes someone cool.
